Specs: Windows 2000
I have windows vista-home premium on my laptop. yesterday colors on screen scattered, and after a minute windows was frozen. I restarted the computer, but it gave message, error in start-up files, system attempted to fix it but failed. After that message appeard to reinstall windows. I put the recovery disc in, formated hard drive and installed windows, but after reboot it says, no windows found, install windows. and then restarts. it is happening in a loop. what to do?

Oh my.

You need to make sure you read the instructions that came with the system to be sure.

Not sure what is going on.

Most OEM's supply a DVD that contains all the software or some other way to return the system to OEM state. That may be by using files on a hidden partition on the hard drive. (which now may be erased)

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
