Subject: reinstalling Vista+activation
OS: Vista Home Premium across
CPU/Ram: PIII-S and AMD 64-X2
Model/Manufacturer: jackbomb
Comment:

I plan to reinstall Vista on one of my computers (so that I can have a clean install without all of the driver/software-related mistakes I made last time).

Is there anything I have to do with my activation key before reinstalling? Do I need to "release and renew" my activation key? Thanks.

Smugly running Vista

You can't use it again AFAIK. You no longer have XP as it nulled the product key when you first used it to upgrade to Vista. Didn't you read the instructions?

I didn't upgrade, though. I kinda cheated and used it as a Full Version edition.

There was no XP installation present when I installed.

You're fine because your hardware should still be identical.
