reformatted then installed vista

Specs: Windows Vista home basic
I reformatted my son's pc, he origanally had Windows XP, after reformatting i installed windows vista home basic. However when i try to connect to the net it doesn't connect, i try to go to connection wizard and doesn't give me the correct option. Options it gives is Broadband or dialup. i have dsl and there's no option for it, when i try to do manaully it screws me up as i have no disk or cd

Broadband = High-Speed Internet = DSL/Cable/Satellite/FiOS...etc

You need to install the network drivers.

I'm curious why you would dump XP in favor of Vista...most people do the opposite.

i wanted to put xp back on it. But afriend of mine had xp and had to reformat her pc so i sent her the xp cd - didn't think i'd be needing it. i have vista on my pc, had xp but found afew errors when i wanted to play certain games, downloaded vista and not 1 problem ;p
