You could buy a Digital/Anolouge TV tuner with component input, this could be a better option as you can then view and record TV as well as recording your VHS tapes. These are available in PCI and USB and at reasonable price. Some come with video edditing software. Ulead Movie Factory is a handy program for editting and making mpg files or burning to dvd, without being overpriced.
