i had a new hard drive installed a while ago and before,when i had a problem,i had the option restore to factory image but now i dont.my question is will i have to run the drivers and utilities disc on re boot and that is it or is there another disc i have to re install, and also is it prety straight foreward?

My guess is your old hard drive contains the OEM restore partitioin. Either copy that partiion over or contact the maker of the computer for cd/dvd's to restore.
