PST file problem

Hi all
I got a problem with my new laptop which is loaded with vista business,when i try to configure my mail account through MS office XP and try to create a PST file vista gives a "Rundll32" error and says that application have to close, i get the same message even when i try to add an old PST file.what could be the reason for this? please help on this.
