My computer says 512 M of Ram but I'm thinking its 526. My question is, does anyone know which processes it is ok to stop? When I look in task manager I see about 26 processes running. I know what a few are but have no idea what the rest of them are. I also see that 425 megs of ram is always in use. This is slowing me down.
Does anyone know a site or something that will show me which processes it is ok to stop running on Vista? Thanks. Oh, I also notice a bunch of Services running.

Don't waste your time by hunting inessential processes as the number you report is indeed low and to stop system services may be harmful.

Instead upgrade your RAM to at least 1GB as 512MB just suffice to run Windows XP smoothly and you are under Vista.

one Gig sticks have never been cheaper , look up your machine at crutial.com see what ram they recomend and search on line for a bargin , ram works best in pairs , so check out the price of two sticks .

I went to crucial.com. Mine is a presario C500 but they only list C500EA, C500EU, and C500T. Not sure which one is mine.

Did you use their System Scanner to tell you what RAM to buy?
