I connected it to my old IDE drive containing all the stuff I wanted to restore to the new computer. When I turned it on, the Promise card BIOS indicated it had found the drive, and the next screen was the computer's BIOS screen. After this, it just froze with a black screen. I turned off the computer, disconnected the drive from the card, and the Promise BIOS screen indicated the Promise BIOS was not installed because it couldn't find a drive. most likely your computer is trying to boot from the old hard drive connected to the controller. not sure about the dimension 9200 bios, but try F12 and choose the correct device to boot from Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

Correct way is to do an ntbackup with system state with the new drivers. Install OS and restore the backup.
