Comment: Hi! I live in Costa Rica, but I installed Vista in English and set all preferences to English, except the format (currency and other things). I set Google to be my default search engine, but every time I make a search from the top-right search box, it gives results from Google EspaƱol (google.com/webhp?hl=es), even after changing the preferences from my Google account, this KEEPS happening. Results are indeed different, and manually changing languages every time isn't a very productive solution. This doesn't happen with firefox, and it doesn't happen in XP either (IE7, Opera, firefox). I have another hard to explain problem with IE7. I type very fast (around 55WPM), and while writing in boxes (like this one), it seems like if some keys are just missed. Say, I'm writing the word "system" fast, but keys are missed and it looks like "sstem". It's really annoying and I just have no idea what could it be. Thanks!!!!! roflcopter

Reply: (edit)As for your Google problem, try taking out any cookies relating to Google and then set your preferences again. For the typing rate, go to Control Panel and see if adjusting the typematic rate under keyboard settings helps. Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness

Reply: (edit)Just to clarify. Deleting the cookies won't do it. When Vista is freshly installed, IE7 comes with no search providers other than the default Live Search (terrible IMO). My problem is caused because I have Costa Rica as my location, hence IE7 is set up to look first if there is an es-CR version of any site (spanish, and if possible, Costa Rica) Consequently, if I go to msn.com it takes me to MSN Latino America, in spanish. The same happens for google; it takes me to Google.es or Google.co.cr... To "solve" or fix this issues, simply go to Tools->Internet Options. In the general tab, click "languages" button, below Appereance. You'll see the list of languages, ordered by priority. I had only es-CR. I just added en-US and deleted es-CR, because I rarely need/read spanish sites. hope it helps anyone else... roflcopter
