Problems with headset sound

I hava a problem when I plug in a headset. There is no sound but when I don't use them I can hear music from a spekers. Where is the problem. does anybody knows???

if it is a USB headset, then set the usb audio device as default rather than your sound card.

Headphones are analog devices, so you may want to check your CDROM settings in Device Manager. Under CDROM Properties, uncheck Enable Digital CD Audio.

Next, go into Tools>Options>Devices tab>Audio CD in your CD player, and likewise uncheck Digital Audio in Properties.
