Comment:

I bought this computer last september. i had after a month or so, i installed my Macafee anit-virus software. after about 2 weeks after that, my side bar doesn't work anymore, and i can't turn on my windows media player; also, i can't open the hotmail page. Even if it said "done" on the bottom right, the IE still has nothing on the page. i thought that was not big deal, since i don't use IE as often as my firefox, and i don't use my Windows Media player as much as my Itunes as well. recently, when i tried to install Halo 2 on my computer, it first appeared with the autorun. I selected the "run 'startup.exe'," after that, a window pops up saying "An ActiveX control on this page maybe unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction?" (the window has a title of Internet Explorer). after i clicked Yes, the installation screen pops up with nothing in it. i tried to install it a several times, but it still doesn't work.
what should i do?

starting to get annoied by windows vista ><

and finally ,

I use the Vista firewall and a router\modem

Did you remove the 60 day trial of Norton/Symantic Anti-virus that came with the pc before you installed McAfee?

No you don't have to download AVG , but you do have to decide which anti virus you want ,
either Avast or Avira have to go as you can only have one anti virus at a time, as they interfere with each other . The decision is yours .
CCleaner cleans up your hard disk , It will run smoother after

thx for the advice and explanation on the CCleaner.

i think i'll stick with avast, since i'm more used to it; as for avira, i installed it cuz my friend reconmemded me to do it.

oh, and do you have any ideas of how to get my windows media player back? cuz i really need it sometimes...
