Problem booting Computer

Specs: Windows 7
Hey guys,

I recently started having a problem with a pc I
Built. Weird thing is, my computer worked
perfectly fine this morning and 6 hours later
the thing wont even boot up. It says "Reboot
and select proper boot device or insert boot
media in selected boot device".

Now, I am able to boot from a CD but have no
idea where to go after that. I checked all my
cords and they are plugged in the right spot
and tight. I cleaned out the computer with
compressed air to get any dust out and it still
wont work. I tried doing a clean install but it
wont let me because my code has been used
Any and ALL help is appreciated.

a install is the last restort not one of the first.

make sure the hard drive is detected in the bios and shows in the bios summary when booting
set the cdrom as first boot device in the bios and hard drive as second.
boot the windows 7 cd and go to recovery options and select startup repair

that message indicates the drive is not being seen as a boot device.

It says there is no hard drive at all -.- ...

It's weird because it worked this morning perfectly fine. So I
assume that means I need a new Hard drive?

That's not weird Nate, one day my father in law was here, the next day he died of a heart attack. Happens to Hard drives too.

What's the make______, model_______, and age___ of your system?
