Solved primary hard disk error F2 to resume

Specs: Windows Vista
i have gateway desktop with vista OS every time when i boot my computer primary hard disk error F2 to resume shows even though i tried to change BIOS setting but it does not work plus when i try to install new windows the system does not detect the hard disk what should i do??

You need to replace the hard drive with a new one because it sounds very much like it has failed.
I hope you have kept backups of your files that are (or were) on it.

Can you still access Windows or not? If you can no longer boot to windows, remove the hard drive and either attach it direct to PC unit or get kit that lets you hook up the hard via usb. Then use a program such as Recuva or Pc Files Inspector (both free) and recovery your data. As mentioned above, sounds like it is time to replace your hard drive. You may be able to simply copy over the files you want but if you run into issues it may be preferable to user data recovery software.
