Presentations settings always on

Sometimes I use Vista's presentation settings, and then later I turn them off again. However, since a few months the presentation settings are enabled EVERY TIME Windows starts. I have already used the mobility center numerous times to uncheck the 'I am currently giving a presentation' box, and have chosen 'stop giving a presentation' in the system tray. It doesn't matter. When I boot up, the presentation settings are turned on again, regardless of whether they were on or off during shut down. This does not happen when I resume from hibernation, even when the settings were on at the time of hibernation (it would actually be useful if it DID remember during hibernation).
I know it's a minor issue, but it's just annoying to constantly having to disable these settings.

I had the same problem and searched for an answer and found your inquiry. I did some snooping on my computer and I found the solution. If the presentation icon is present in the notification area, right click it and pick "Customize Presentation Settings." There is a box that is titled "Connected Displys," click on it. Un-check the box that's labeled "I always give a presentation when I use this display configuration." Click the "OK's" to get out.
That's it!
