Hi. I have a "preparing to install" window pop up for a few seconds every time I open IE 7.0 and this occurs sometimes when I open any folder such as My Documents. It pops up, goes away, pops up again, and it does this till the IE or the folders are loaded. This first started when I tried to delete Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional so that I could install 8.0 Professional. In the middle of uninstalling AA 7.0 Professional, the uninstall window froze and I had no choice but to restart the computer. When I restarted, I went back to uninstall programs in the control panel and saw that the program was not entirely uninstalled and I deleted all the remaining shortcuts manually. I then installed 8.0 Professional and ever since, this "preparing to install" window keeps popping up for IE and folders. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Please let me know. Thank you very much in advance.
Reinstall Adobe Acrobat 7 & see if you can then properly uninstall the program.
Anyhow, Acrobat 7 & older versions are not supported in Vista. If you get a popup while attempting to properly uninstall Acrobat 7 suggesting that Acrotray.exe & Explorer.exe files are in use & must be closed before continuing installation. Simply click ignore to proceed with the uninstall & be sure to reboot your machine after you finish uninstalling Acrobat 7.
