Comment: Hey all. I installed Vista last night alongside XP. I created a seperate partition for it...but every time I try to open something directly on the C drive (where XP is installed) from Vista, it always tells me I don't have permission to access the file. I always end up having to copy th file to the G: drive (the Vista partition) to do anything. Strangely, I can play media with Winamp and Media Player Classic directly off the C drive...anyone know what's up? On topic, is there anyway to reduce the number of prompts you get when you're trying to run applications? It's starting to get annoying...and I'm running as an administrator! Thanks for the help. --Max

Reply: (edit)You need to take ownership of those files/folders...........Properties --> Security --> Advanced --> Owners The second issue's is below. 0. Press the Windows Key + R (winkey + R). At the run prompt, type "msconfig" without the quotes. 1. Go to the Tools tab, scroll down and select "Disable UAP" and click the run button. 2. You should see a command prompt open and it will say "Command completed successfully". 3. Reboot and you are done. Computer Components

HERE IS YOUR PROBLEM: Windows Vista Beta2 should be installed on the primary partition (C:) Your will experience strange behavior as long as this OS is sitting on any other partition except (C:) You should move Vista over to the 1st partition. I hope you take this advice into consideration.
