Hi everyone,
I have a quick question.
First before I ask the question, I just added another 1GB stick of RAM today, my CPU can only handle max 2GB's. PC is about 8 yrs old.
OK, the question: Out of nowhere my PC is hanging on the Microsoft green bar, it keeps going around and around for over a minute, maybe even 2 mins.
BUT, as soon as that is done, the rest boots up now within a second.I also followed Black Viper's Configurations for a better and smoother PC and what is needed and not needed at boot up, and still stays on the green bar forever.
Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do??
It did it before I added the extra RAM today, and I thought that would stop or at least not be as long, but now it seems longer.
BTW, I just did an FDISK and reinstalled Vista the other day, and all seemed fine, till yesterday when this started happening. I've had Vista on this PC since Vista first came out, never had severe problems.
Thanks in advance for anyone that replies...Viv

Usually slow boot is a driver issue.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Ok, but how do I find out what driver?? In Device Mgr. all is ok.
