|I'm having trouble using 1x500GB HD as a backup drive periodically by connecting in then disconecting it from the Motherboard, I have 3x SATA HD's pluged into the motherboard and I connected the PATA drive in changing the jumpers to slave beforehand so the BIOS doesn't try to boot off the PATA drive, when I turn it on the first screen shows...|
"detecting hardware ( or drives )" then "no drives found"
then it procedes to boot up into vista normally and the PATA drive doesn't show in my computer.
I know what your probably thinking " why don't you get an external HD "
well I tryed 2, both resulted in a BSOD in vista, I also have a Zalman GS1000 where you can pull 2 doors down at the front and hot swap drives, the PATA drive is in the top draw but connected straight into the motherboard with the PATA and power lead, I will get another SATA drive in the future due to money shortage at the moment to hot swap but the PATA drive is the one I have for now and currently have about 30GB of photo and RAW files I need to backup as soon as possible.
could someone tell me where I am going wrong, cheers.
