I have 4 desktop PCs on my home network.
They are running Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
I want to back-up each PC over the network to external hard drive.
I have a 1Tb external hard drive.
I want to partition the 1 Tb drive into 4 drives, approximatly 250 Gb each
How do I set these drives, Active/Primary, Primary or Logical?
I am going to use Acronis True Image Home 2009 software.

Partitions are one approach. But why not just use 4 folders for the 4 PC's? This would give you maximum usage of the backup drive without having to repartition when the first partition gets full.

Partitioning and disk space is not a concern. 2 of the PC's only have 100 Gb of application software on them. They still have 200 Gb of free space. The other 2 PC's have a minimum of application and data on them, all of my data is saved on a dedicated DATA disk in each PC. All of my PC DATA disks are saved to an external 500Mb hard drive.
