Based on looking around several sites, alot of people are having the same issues with page loads, no matter what type of ISP access they have. It seems that the pages I visit most, such as gmail, ebay, and a few others, or if I try have more than one or two pages open, its a nightmare of locking up, extremely slow page loads, unable to type anywhere on the page for log in, search terms, what ever, just continous- stop start, stop start, as much as up to 10.... yes 10 min, while I watch the bar at the bottom flash error on page while flashing the site address. I know that part of the problem lay within the most recent MS updates, that totally wreaked havoc on my system, that I have since un-installed, and I know I am running pretty skinny on memory, just waiting for my gig to arrive in the mail. I never had this problem with XP, atleast never to this degree. Its obviously a vista issue, am wondering if any guru here has found the glitch, and knows how to remove it, or fix it? I havent found any thing on MS's site...imagine that, to address the problem, or even report it. Am very interested in what others are doing about this problem and any other vista horror stories. I have yet to find where one might be able to create recovery cds, only a system restore, or back up. I am by far a techie, which is probably easily noticed, and freely admit this is doing nothing for my reputation of being a blonde( I still have a few hairs left on my head) over dealing with trying to become a savvy vista user!

I bought a laptop, because desk tops are rder to throw out the window.

What your verbiage led me to believe is just to the contrary. Techie or not - show me a system pre-loaded with Vista Home Basic & I'll show you a system that should in reality be running XP. LOL

The fact that you bought a sub $500 system hoping to fully experience Vista is untechie at any level & it even gets worse considering the notebook is based on a VIA CPU -- which is computationally inferior to x86 & x64 offerings from AMD or Intel. Sorry, you get to share the blame with M$ here - because you somewhat brought this on yourself ;-)
