Important Info:
******************
Vista 64-bit
2x Radeon HD 4890 (Crossfire)
Hyundai W240D 24"I've recently built a new pc for gaming, etc. I've connected one of my graphics cards to the monitor via a HDMI connection (the gfx card has a DVI-HDMI adapter) and I had set the sound to play through my monitor via some default setting.
I tried to get my speakers linked up to my system by putting it into the 'out' jack connected to my motherboard, but I just seemed to get the 'Windows' sounds (like the test tones) through it.. No movies or other audio will work (although they did before I'd fiddled around) and now not only can I not get the speakers to work, I can't get it to play sound through the monitor again other than the windows test noises, alerts, etc.
If I view the "Audio Devices" window, I see "ATI HDMI Input" which is checked and set to default and I also see "Realtek Digital Output" which is enabled, but not default.
I've tried practically every combination of settings here to get my sound back but it's not working. I've also put my headphones into my computer and I have the same problem (windows sounds only)
Is there some obvious mistake I'm making here? Help would be much appreciated! :)
