Please ignore above spec, query is about Vista laptop which my wife has had for a month or so. Part of the package was "Windows Live OneCare" which, having read bad reports I decided to shelve.
However, I notice that it has a two-way firewall. Is it possible to just install the firewall without the rest of the stuff, or is it "all or nothing"?

Well it's your prerogative. I'm a long time user of WLOC and love it. I've installed it on many of my friends PCs - Vista & XP - and they told me they like it too. Why not try it out for free for 90 days - you will be surprise at what it will do beside being your AV engine.
