Comment: Whenever I try opening up a word file in Word 2007 on my vista ultimate machine, it just hangs there for a long while (maybe minutes) or it just hangs and I have to stop the loading. This only happens when I try and open the file from within windows explorer first. If I open Word 2007 first and then search for the file in my different folders from within Word 2007, it loads straight away. Why does it hang when I try and open it from outside WOrd 2007 ? HELP PLEASE

Reply: (edit)Check your file associations and make sure the document is trying to open in Word 2007 and not still trying to locate an older version or some other application that's not installed. Also check your Event Viewer log files to see if any relevant errors are being recorded...
