Message: My brother has just installed Vista on his PC, but his having all sorts of problems with Windows Update. First off it took ages for it to even find updates available (kept getting the errors with error codes) but finally after installing SP1 it seemed to be ok and picked up the post-SP1 updates and installed them fine. But now suddenly, Windows Update won't even open at all - it opens the window, but it's just a white space, and it cannot be closed. Nothing happens at all and it is totally inactive, and the only way to get rid is to end explorer.exe. Is there a fix for this? Any ideas would be great! Thanks

Have you tried disabling the anti-virus then trying to update? Sometimes the antivirus stops it.
