Really weird!

I've googled like crazy and the few threads that I have found all state that Office 2003 student/teacher should work in vista 64. But when I install and try to run word for example, it acts like an unistalled feature and it goes through the 'installing and configuring' routine. Then it works. You close it and open it again and it does the same thing... acts like it's not installed and goes through the 'installing and configuring' thing again. The same is true for outlook, exel, powerpoint, and the rest of it.

If you bring up outlook (go through the whole install routine...)and try to set it to use word for the email editor, it claims that word is not installed!?

Anybody got any ideas... I really HATE the idea of having to go out and buy office 2007.... I haven't had 2003 that long!?

I use Office 2003 Professional Edition on Vista 64 and I haven't had any problems with mine.

Have you tried to reinstall it?

Several times now and I get the same thing. It's almost acting like it can't find it's configuration files so it believes it hasn't been fully installed yet, so it goes through its 'install and configure' routine every time you start one of the programs.

Got it fixed. I re installed vista and it's working now. I have NO idea what the problem was. I probably turned off some required service while trying to tweak vista or similar. Wouldn't be the first time i've done something stupid like that!
