Comment: HI THERE, i have a quad cpu 2.4ghz pc with 4gb ram and 8800 gt 512mb graphics card. the 8800 graphics card does not come with vga port so as it comes in two dvi ports and so it came with a converter 'dvi to vga' i plugged it in and works fine but: sometimes when i turn it on it takes a long time for the screen to actually come on and sometimes it does not even come on and sometimes when i turn my pc on it just comes on. i don't know how to fix this problem of my lcd screen turning on and sometimes not turning on even though the computer is on can someone help please

Reply: (edit)Did you connect the separate power connector to your graphics card ? Such cards need more power than that supplied by the PCI-e or AGP connector and if enough power is not supplied with the separate power connector, the card may or may not work. Check all connections from PC to monitor. If it does not help, remove and refit the graphics card. Other than that, the DVI-vga converter may be faulty. If you have a separate converter, try that.
