I loaded an older version of Norton (2002) onto this machine and it wouldn't run because of a driver problem. Now it won't uninstall because of the same thing, any ideas?

First a primer - a driver is a device driver used to connect hardware peripherals to Windows. In other words, a driver enables Windows OS and hardware to communicate with each other.
Norton is a software, not hardware.
Your problem is Norton 2002 is completely incompatible with Vista.
