Specs: Windows Vista
After working fine for ages, I now have no VGA output- TV just showing blue screen, whilst laptop reverts to black screen. Right clicking laptop the graphics options output to option has gone missing and in graphics properties I just get 'two displays must be connected...' blah for multiple display, but how can I selcet multiple display when plugging the VGA cable in gives me a black screen. Please help!

can you test with a regular monitor not the tv?

TV's all I've got. It's now working sometimes and not others. When it works a right click on the desktop will give me an 'output to' option under Graphics properties, and when it won't work the option disappears. As I said, the problem is compounded as when I plug the VGA cable in the laptop screen goes black. And under Graphics properties a second output must be attached before I can select multiple outputs- hence, not possible.

Some laptops have a key combo that you must press to toggle the display to external video only / sometimes both / built in display video only - see the Owner's or User's manual for the model.
