Have you checked that the sound is not muted or volume turned all the way down ?

Do you hear any sound when Vista is booting ?

Can you hear music CD playing ?

Is it only confined to videos that you do not hear any sound of ?

Are videos on the hdd or on a CD/DVD-ROM ?

Do you have PC speakers installed ?
