I just installed a wireless keyboard and mouse. Since i did that my screensaver does not come on when setup to do so. Is there a setting that i am missing?

1. Go to Windows Update site & click on Available optional Updates.
2. Look for an update called M$ HID Non-User Input Data Filter
3. Download the update and install it.
3a. Restart Windows immediately afterward for the update to be made permanent part of the OS. Otherwise you will need to download it again.
4. Your screensaver will then be working again. The problem is due to an inherent bad code in M$ software (they're too lazy to correct it across all Windows platforms). The following two MSKBs explain the relationship between the screensaver, and wireless keyboard & mouse that was first discovered shortly after the introduction of XP SP2.

EDIT: Revised this post on September 16, 2007 at 08:28 EST to add Step 3a above.
