no Recognition for software

Dell / Dimension xpsgen5...

Now I have the old video card uninstalled and now it is trying to load software for the new one. The screen for the new card opens, ATI Radeon, install options on the side, but when I click install graphic card, it starts and that is as far as I get. It fails or cannot get software. The new software disc is in the disc drive and it looks like it is reading it, but no result. It's slow but that is why I have put the new card in. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

go to device manager...
expand display adapters and you should find the graphics card
right click and select "update driver"
select "No,not at this time" and click next >> select "Install from a list or specific location" and click next >> check search removable media and uncheck "include this location to search" and click next

this should install the drivers for the graphics card...

Good luck

The correct and very detailed answer of darko010101 will probably do the job but just to make sure:

Is the CD Rom not scratched or filled with sticky fingers ?
