Every so often when i boot there is no internet connection. The vista pc is connected to a router that also connects to an xp pc. The xp box will connect to the net with no problems when this is going on.
Things ive tried: reboot, reset router, turned off vista firewall, ipconfig / release / renew, changed the connection from the on board lan to a network card, ran vista diagnostics ( which says : "problem was fixed' [and still no connection], or that there is no problem, or cannot communicate with dns server. Ipconfig says Tunnel Adapter Local Area Connection 7: media disconnected. Eventually after pushing lots of random buttons and stomping my feet on the floor i get a connection. :(
Any way to tell just what is going on when this happens?
