Hi,
I have windows vista on a Dell laptop. After I have been using documents in a particular folder, a new folder often appears. The name is always composed of what appear to be kanji characters, although I can't say for sure. I don't use any Japanese language tools etc, and I'm not creating these files myself. I delete them and they come back, but with different names (still in Kanji characters though). I have norton internet security which says there is no spyware, but I've not been connected to the internet for a month anyway, and they still keep appearing. Any help much appreciated!

Either something is actually putting on these folders or your system is not using the drive as is should and the folders are in error.
Not sure which way to go either. Might try online or another antivirus, might see about hard drive diagnostics apps.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
