Ok, I got a new hard drive and plugged it in (SATA). When my comp boots it detects it and all but when I get into Vista it wont show anything for it... Am I doing something wrong or is the drive dead?

You need to create a partition on your new drive then format it before you can use it. Go to control panel, Administrative Tools, select create and format disk partitions.
