New Digi Cam not detected

Specs: Windows Vista, 2M
I just got a Casio Exilim EX - Z29 zoom. I took a couple test pictures and plugged it into the computer.

The computer said 'New hardware detected. Installing driver.' then it said "Failed to install."

I realized I had used the USB that went with an Easy Share digi cam that came up missing a couple months ago. I found a program online that uninstalled the Easy Share files that weren't removed when I unistalled it through the control panel. Still didn't work.

Plugged in the right cord and nothing, zip, zero, zelch.

I opened control panel and went to "Add Hardware" nothing.

Clicked on "Cameras and Scanners," again nothing.

Realized that the only software that came with the camera was Photo Transport which transfers pics from the computer to the camera.

Went to casio.com and downloaded Photo Loader with Hot Album. Unstalled and restarted computer.

Plug in camera, and yes power was on, and still nothing.

It doesn't even detect a usb was plugged in.

The computer is just over a year old and 4 USB ports, I've tried 3 of them, 4th is the one my wireless mouse/keyboard sensor is connected to.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've already looked at the support pages on casio and I have the manual. Nothing. The computer simply doesn't detect the usb connection.

With your camera still plugged in, go into device manager and look for the device with a yellow questionmark next to it, that should be your camera. Delete it then unplug your camera. Look in the manual to see if you need to install software first before you plug your camera back in.

No question marks at all. Only software that came with the camera was software for youtube upload and to transfer files to the camera from the computer.

I've also tried all 4 usb ports. The back 2 I know work. The front two I have no way to test. Sis is going to bring over her camera's cord (same type) to check if its the cable.

About to call Casio. I sent them an email over the weekend but nothing....

Very frustrating.

LOL I know. No exclamation marks. It has to be the cord....

Called the tech support for casio and they had me take out the memory card and battery and reload them.

Been there done that.

Said it was a repair issue. So instead of paying UPS to mail it, waiting for them to repair and send it back.

I took it back to the store and got different one.
