Hiya guys,
Well I'd like to know if there is solution of it, actuelly this isn't a problem. I use a 56K Dialup connection which gets down sometime, when it gets down I get to know that on XP with the help of activity monitor icon on taskbar but in vista there is no activity animated icon on taskbar when you are connected. Actuelly icon is there but there is no activity lite ups in it just like XP. Can you help me regarding that? There is an image, look on the taskbar in this pic, that icon always there even internet working properly or not. There are option of Turn on acvitiy animation if you right click on that icon but still no lit up animation even the activity animation is turned on? Hope I made some sence
Thanks

It frustrates me too, but it seems there's nothing you can do about this when using the built in network icon - I use a LAN for my internet access, and the even with "Turn on the activity animation" selected, the lights flash, but not consistently like on Windows XP.
I used to have an application for Win9x called "Lights" I think it was. Not sure if it works in Vista but there may be a similar application out there.

You're not the only one that has inquired about the missing traffic animation in Vista network icon. Other users have complained about it in THIS thread.
I have looked around for info and found that Vista uses a different concept as explained HERE
Finally, we all need to read ...

Although I do not use dial-up, but with my broadband connection: the "globe" on the network animation is gone if there isn't a connection present.

Here you go, it was called LanLight:

Just tested it on Vista and it works too. Make sure you download the NT4 version.
* Just thought. I have no idea if this works with dial up! You could always give it a go.

Well guys ur effots are very very helpful, thanks for them. I've read those articles and also gonna try the LanLight, I hope it works.
