I had nero 7 and it worked fine - i uninstalled it and installed nero 8 and now i cant burn anything. When i select a burner i get "Sorry, this version of nero can only be used with the recorder it has been bundled with" It wasnt bundled with the recorder; i downloaded the setup file from nero's web site today! Gaah - im stumped. :(

It's obvious, you didn't get it with the recorder, so it won't work. Reinstall the one that worked, or buy a new burner bundled with Nero 8.

um - thanks for the reply but when you download the setup file from nero's web site it is not burner specific - it's THE setup to install nero on your pc no matter what burner you have. Ive downloaded nero updates all the time and they work....?

You did not clean out every little trace of Nero 7 that was probably bundled with the player.
Go here and get the Nero removal tool for Nero 7, then try installing Nero 8 again. Remember that Nero 8 is a separate product and requires a different serial number..

Nero 8 imo is nothing more then a giant hogware. You should have just stuck with nero 7

fwiw - i dug through the registry and discovered the serial number was incorrect - changed the serial and fixed the problem - dunno why nero just didn't say "invalid serial number"....
