BitLocker Drive Preparation Tool But I need x64 bit versions. Microsoft says both tools should appear on Windows Update, but they don't, although I do have the appropriate version of Vista. Could somebody please supply me with direct links to both files (x64 bit)?

If you really do have the appropriate version of Vista, these features are installed by using the Windows Ultimate Extras section of Windows Update. i_XpUser

yes, I know, but it's empty, the dreamscene update was available, but not the bitlocker tool: http://support.microsoft.com/?LCID=... So does somebody maybe have the direct link windows update uses to download the file?

OS: Vista x64 This is meaningless. If your Vista is neither Vista Ultimate nor Vista Enterprise, you cannot get the tool. It's as simple as that. i_XpUser

well, obviously my vista is not "neither Vista Ultimate nor Vista Enterprise", otherwise I wouldn't ask. I know that this tool runs only on these two versions of vista. and as I said, it does not appear on win update, maybe something is wrong with this function on my pc. All I need is the link to the file, I know it will install, because MS says so on their site
