I'm trying to fix a friend's laptop and I'm to a point where recovery wants me to put in the Vista OS disk to load all the drivers but the laptop didn't come with one. Does anyone know of somewhere I can download a complete set of them, preferably for free?

Drivers would have to be from the laptop manufacturer.

Almost but not all new systems have some way to create or obtain disks. Read the owners manual for exact methods. You may have already deleted the information needed. I'd start at the company that made the system. They tend to offer drivers but the best way is to use the factory recovery disks.
