... "Toshiba was no help"

... have you kept the old harddrive?

... did Toshiba let you know if there was a recovery partition on the drive?

... Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties

actually when you set up a new PC you are ALWAYS given the prompt to make up back-up discs before installing any progs. You obviously missed the boat.

You can argue with Toshiba untill they send you new restore CD's, probably for a small fee....they will have to know your product ID and serial number

Good Luck

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Mavis: Yes. I still have the old HD but something internal to the drive is broken because it will not boot, even if I change the Boot Sequence to try and boot to the Recovery Partition.

XPUser: I did call Toshiba back today and got a different rep than the one I spoke to previously. I explained my predicament and he told me they could send me an install recovery disk. So, $24.99 later, it is ordered and should be here in 7-10 days.

Thank you both for your assistance.
