Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 2.2 GHz / 3837 MB
I have a hp pavilion dv4 1427nr the chipset is amd it is ((amd turion (tm) x2 dual core mobile rm-75 2.20 ghz)) the video is ((ati radeon hd 3200 ))and I upgraded to windows 7 like an ideot I did not back up my system because I thought windows 7 was going to be great but there is so many problems now. well I went out today and bought full version not upgrade of windows vista ultimate. The question is when I go to install windows vista ultimate am I going to need to get the drivers off of hp's website first or will vista download the drivers for me? And if I have to download the drivers myself what all do I need?
I am pretty sure, motherboard, bios, sound, video, ethernet, and I forget the rest. I googled and went to hp but realizing what drivers I need on hp is a riddle and need a road map lol. and when I called hp on the phone they stated if I do not buy there recovery disk from hp with all their 3rd party crap and I install my own version of windows they wont help me with tech support to get the right drivers and my warranty is void. I dont care about the warranty but I need to find out if I need to get drivers or vista will recognize and download them for me. Please help thanks and yall rock :)

What problems are you having with Win 7? - I think everyone
will agree that going back to Vista would be a bad move. The
problem may have been in doing an upgrade from Vista to
Win 7 as any underlying problems would have been carried
over. You can still do a clean install of Win 7, even with an
upgrade disk, in fact MS recommend this.

If you have definitely decided then first stop would be the HP
website - download all relevant drivers for your system first
from there. Install the chipset drivers before any others.

Before doing your own upgrade to Win 7 you should always first check with the laptop manufacturer. If they don't have Win 7 drivers for your model you should not upgrade.

Why? - because on an HP laptop the drivers are usually custom made for HP, so if they don't have Win 7 drivers you are unlikely to find them anywhere else that will work properly with that laptop model.

Windows Vista drivers for the HP Pavilion dv4-1427nr are here:

These are HP's own drivers. Windows Vista will not automatically download them. Download them manually.
