Specs: vista
Sir, if you could help us, we woud be very grateful!

On her computer my wife had hotmail and vista. I suggested to her that we coud configure such that hotmail came via outlook.

for a little time it worked then she found that people could access her account without even a password I do not how how so we said we woud go back leaving only hotmail in that process instead of just closing outlook I think I deleted outlook, with the result that she has lost all her old e-mails, including some very precious family ones regarding our young son 27 years who passed away three years ago!

Coud you please help us to recover these if there are any charges we woud be happy to pay you woud you know anybody in Houston who you coud reommend to do this by a personal visit?

We woud be indebted?

web search data recovery and do not use or load anything on this machine until you have a data recovery cd or you may overwrite what is there.

All the email for OUTLOOK (not Outlook Express) is kept in a .pst file, before I went crazy with data recovery I would do a search in your computer, telling it an advanced search showing system and hidden files. Find your .pst file and make a copy of it somewhere you can remember it. you have probably just deleted the shortcut to outlook. or you can google .pst location in windows. Remember where you find the .pst file you will need to put it back when you get outlook running.

actually, wouldn't the sent mail still be on web-based hotmail? I could be wrong, haven't used that junk for years now.

By the way, I quit using OE years ago when I actually realized what junk it was ;-)

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

He states he is using Outlook, not outlook express and no the sent items would either be in the .pst file for outlook or .dbx files in outlook express. Because of this the emails etc are downloaded from the hotmail account to his mail client and are not likely on their server anymore. (unless he has checked to leave a copy on the server for "x" amount of days. Just to clarify.
