Hi to all,
I'd like to create a win 95 virtual machine under Sun VirtualBox. I already tried to create a win Me machine, but it did not work correctly.
Now, I purchased a win 95 CD, but it is not bootable and I cannot install it...
Could anybody provide the files needed to boot under win 95 (I got a win 98 boot cd, but it is inadequate !). Also. my laptop has no diskette drive.
Many thanks for your help.

Hi again,
I could successfully format my virtual HD and transfer boot files from my win 98 boot CD, and I can boot from the virtual HD.
However, I cannot install win95 from the CD, as it constantly asks for a diskette (drive A:).
I might create a virtual diskette ont the virtual machine HD, but I need the win 95 diskette data for that... does anybody know how I could find this data ?
Thanks in advance.

There may be a 95 iso on the Net... Google for the possibility.
The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money!

Hi zap,
In fact, after looking in-depth at the Sun VirtualBox technical docs, I realized that win 95 would by no means bring an improvement to my win Me experience, as the whole 95/98/Me series is not supported in terms of graphical card !
So, forget it and thanks for your input.

You need win95 floppy images that have universal CD support.
Win95 didn't come have as such cd support as we use it now.
It used to have autoexec and config and other system files to support the cd.
See boot disk places. You can run the floppy images from the emulator (VM). No need to make real floppies."Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
