My USB stick is not showing up on the desktop even though it is not that old. What can I do? It was working the last time I used it.

Did you look in My Computer? Did you try different USB ports?

... also try the USB Stick in another computer and see if you can see it as one of the drives. If not it has probably died but you could try reformatting it (which loses the data on it).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

✔ Best Answer
Plug it in, then right click "Computer" and select Properties. On the screen that opens click on "Device Manager" that will bring up a list of devices with a little arrow tab that when you click on them shows the device listed. Down near the bottom you will see Universal Serial Bus Controllers, click on the little arrow beside that....are there any yellow exclamation marks???

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!

Thank you, actually later that day it did suddenly work, but your advice sounded useful and I will definately try it next time.

Sometimes simply restarting a computer can fix things - maybe it was that. Thanks for popping back to let us know.
