Specs: Windows 7
my computer will not load up it says media test failure check cable no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key

Assuming it booted the last time you started your pc this is a sign the drive died.

Things to check:
Drive is listed in the bios boot device list
Drive power and data cables are firmly seated at both ends.

If the first boot device priority is not given to HDD in BIOS, then you may get this message when you boot up your computer with a non-bootable CD or DVD disk left in the CD or DVD drive or non-bootable flash disk forgotton in the USB port.

Remedy is, remove any non-bootable CD/DVD disk or USB drive before you power your computer on or give the first boot priority to your HDD in BIOS. I assume that your computer is healthy and has no hardware/software fault in it.
