My CD?DVD drawer won't open after copying files to a CD.

May 16, 2012 at 13:24:41
Specs: Windows Vista
Whenever I copy folders to a CD by drawer will not eject when I am finished unless I restart my computer. I have done this on numerous occasions before with no problems. These are machine embroidery files that I am backing up so they can be taken off my computer to free up space. Thank you for any help you can give.
Blessings
Terri

You must be talking about CDRW?
If so, you may be better just to burn regular CDR's, as CDRW's have a tendency to fail every once in awhile.

No they are CD-Rs. I guess it's just my computer. My external hard drive died the other night when I tried to do a backup, so I wonder if I have a virus that my virus program is not detecting that killed my external hard drive and is making my CD/DVD drive mess up.

another question...are you using an open cdr? In other words, are you finalizing it or just adding files till it's full?
