Comment:

I'm going to be building a new machine soon on which I would like to run x64 Vista.

Right now I am running Windows XP pro SP 3.

What I am wondering is if there is any easy way to transfer my "user folder" from XP to Vista, so that I can preserve program preferences, email, Firefox bookmarks, etc.

Are there any software programs that help with this transfer? Or will I need to begin from scratch?

You can use Windows to do this. Take a look at this Microsoft article. I hope it is what you need.
