I have a HP pavilion slimeline with Vista. It's not quite a year old and the other day the mouse just quite working with the computer. So I purchased a cordless mouse and keyboard, it worked for a couple days then the mouse again will not work. The batteries are new and the usb must be working b/c the keyboard is still operable. I did a system restore and the mouse is still not working. What is going on???

Try Safe Mode. If you can use the mouse, enter the Device Manager - click View - Show hidden devices - remove all mouse entries - reboot in normal mode. The correct uncorrupted drivers should reinstall.
