I am having a lot of problems with my IE7 installation. Is there some way to repair it in Windows Vista similar to the way you can repair Windows Vista itself by booting with the disc?

Try running 'system file checker' - that can repair IE. In Vista you have to start it using start/programs/accessories, right click 'command prompt' and select 'run as administrator', then type in: sfc /scannow & press enter. Depending on how Vista was installed you may or may not need a Vista CD if corrupted files are found.
