Hi, I have a laptop with Vista Home Premium, but ever since uninstalling some programs and doing some windows updates, i have a problem.

Im getting a message on startup saying that it cant find MBR and to press Control Alt & Delete to restart. However this keeps coming back.

If i go into the bios menu to select where to boot from, then select HDD then it boots fine into Windows. However the message comes back after a restart and so have to keep going into the boot select menu.

How can i fix this? My laptop didnt have a recovery disk, i think everything is on a hard disk partition. I dont really want to do a factory restore. Is there a way i can restore the file anyway?

Thanks

Contact the companies support. It must still be under warrany or have online documentation.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
